In partnership with its Dutch distributor Preston Ability, TGA successfully debuted its new 32st capacity Wheelchair Powerpack Plus at RehaCare International (Hall 05, Stand D34, 24-27th September, Düsseldorf).

The TGA Powerpack is first choice for leading healthcare providers, carers, distributors and disabled individuals worldwide looking for powered assistance to drive manual, attendant-controlled wheelchairs. Each reliable model has a lightweight yet robust design, ergonomic controls and compatibility with the majority of wheelchair types through an infinite range of UK manufactured fittings. This market-leading product has been totally designed and built in the UK for over 25 years and through decades of TGA development, has evolved into a proven product that is trusted by 50,000+ carers worldwide.

Appearing at RehaCare for the first time this year, the new bariatric Powerpack Plus was showcased alongside the established Solo, Duo and Heavy-Duty models. The 24v Plus model eliminates the difficulties posed for carers when pushing larger wheelchair occupants and negotiating slopes, ramps or uneven surfaces. It helps to drive manual wheelchairs forward so moving and handling risks such as back and muscle strain are reduced for carers. In addition to its remarkable 32 stone user weight capacity, the new 3mph Powerpack Plus incorporates several additional pioneering features to enhance both the occupant and attendant’s mobility. These include advanced ‘soft-start’ technology, extra safety features, greater battery range and a service performance indicator.

Eric Cooper, TGA Powerpack Product Manager comments: “I am delighted to report our new Powerpack Plus has received significant levels of enquiries at RehaCare. We were busy all four days of the event demonstrating how this new solution will enhance well being and independence for bariatric wheelchair users and their carers. It was a pleasure once again working with our Dutch partners at Preston Ability who supported this debut by demonstrating the proven results of our existing Powerpack range. We believe this new model represents a significant development in the global mobility sector and has already been endorsed by leading Occupational Therapists.”

Each Powerpack Plus is supplied with a two-year warranty and when off board charging is required, the battery pack can be quickly removed from the chassis without the need to disconnect complex wiring.
